Storms Early This Evening
A cold front will push a line of storms through Central Texas early this evening
The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for the following counties:
- Travis County
- Hays County
- Williamson County
The storms are expected to move through the area between 6 and 8 p.m. and could bring damaging winds, hail, and heavy rain.
Sabrina Ullman, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service, said the storms will likely form in the Hill Country and move east-northeast.
The storms could produce wind gusts up to 60 mph and hail up to 1 inch in diameter.
Ullman said the storms could also bring heavy rain, which could lead to flooding.
The National Weather Service recommends that people in the affected areas be prepared to take shelter if the storms become severe.
People should also avoid driving if possible and be aware of the potential for flooding.
The storms are expected to move out of the area by 9 p.m.
